Add CT101 Zwave thermostat to Things

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Intel Core i3, 4GB RAM, SSD

    • Java Runtime Environment: latest as of Oct 2017
    • openHAB version: ? latest stable as of Oct 2017
  • Issue of the topic: I cannot configure this Thermostat

I have a Z-Stick Gen5 Zwave controller and a CT101 thermostat. The thermostat is paired with the controller. I see them both in PaperUI - Configuration - Things. Same in HABmin. The controller is detected fine, but the thermostat is not - shows
Z-Wave Node 2 (0098:6501:000C:9.0) ONLINE
Unknown Device
zwave:device:15f9b859c52:node2

I can find a configuration for CT101 at http://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/98
but what do I do with it? I exported in OpenHAB2 format. Where do I place the file? I copied it to /etc/openhab2/things/CT101.things, no luck.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looking at the confusion in your post I would recommend to first start with the basics of openHAB:

http://docs.openhab.org/tutorials/beginner/configuration.html

If you think you are already experienced enough: you need to update the zwave binding to the latest snapshot to make that thermostat work:

There is no stable from that date, so I guess you are on a snapshot version: check via console and bundle:list on which zwave binding version you are:

http://docs.openhab.org/administration/console.html

I got it to work by reinstalling OpenHAB and the Zwave binding. But I cannot control the thermostat and all sensors are reading 0…
