Why is this so? Are channel states only updated if an item is linked?
I have installed the systeminfo addon and have only added items for a few of the channels (especially because I don’t want to see them in the event.log).
Still I’d like to see the channel states in the Admin Gui.
Yes, because there’s no value in updating every single available channel for every thing in your system if the data isn’t being used. Channels are dormant until you tell openHAB to use them by connecting an item.
If you don’t want to see items in your log, add a filter to your log.
