Aeotec Multisensor 7 randomly stops communicating with the controller. I have it measure humidity to turn on an exhaust fan in the bathroom and it will randomly stop reporting. When it does this the only way that I know to fix it is to power cycle the multisensor.
It is powered by USB and i unplug it and plug it back in. upon rebooting, the multisensor will report normally again. This happens every few days.
Not sure what to try at this point. i tested a rule that sends the refresh command to the humidity item but that didnt work (didn’ think it would; that was before i knew the thing stopped communicating with the controller).
I put Zwave into debug logging mode and came up with these snippets.
Thanks for the response. I have reviewed the thing config in pretty good detail. I assume that if it were a config issue, it would happen all the time, or at least predictably but it stopping communication altogether sounds more like a device issue…but thats why I’m posting on here!
I did read somewhere that there are issues with the 1.6 firmware of the Multisensor but haven’t been able to confirm it. I know mine is on 1.6.
I have found Aeotec support to be pretty good. Register and open a ticket. They should be able to help you do the firmware upgrade using Simplicity studio (if needed) too.
