If it works from that then it should work from openHAB. Are you sure it does though because it could be that communication is not reliable enough.
If you pause and un-pause the controller in openHAB it should force the nodes to initialise again. If it does not work it can only be that the communication from USB stick to node is not good enough.
It might also be worth downloading a more recent version of PC controller.
Ideally you include the devices into the network using the OH binding, not a button on the controller or some other tool.
Otherwise I agree with @robmac Without the data from your exact device we cannot even be sure your device identifies the same as the previous one in this thread. That is another reason why we like people starting their own thread.
