Alarm is Triggered by Autorefresh

Hi everyone,

i got a wired problem that started this week. For no reason, when knx autorefresh starts, the alarm from my knx-alarm-system is triggered and sets it off.

The funny thing is that this is close to the exact time every morning around 06:25 h.
My items down’t have the autoupdate flag set, at least it was not needed since openHAB 2 if i remember correctly

My Setup: openHAB 2 Build 837 and using the KNX1 Binding (online repository).

So if anyone got an idea how to get rid of this, or had any clue why this happens, please leave a note! Thanks!

I think this line:

is what is causing your problems. It appears your items file is getting updated(or at least OH thinks it is getting updated). I assume your items are persisted so when the model/items are reloaded, the items get persisted from undef to last state which triggers your alarm rule. Maybe you have some kind of backup running at that time?
Must be something that “touches” the files time stamp.

Actually i configured a backup solution (backup2I) a few weeks ago. The cron job starts around 23.10h. I’ve to check the logs, but i get a mail around 0630h that the job is finished.

Could be the backup job. But i’ll try to find out what changed this file. So there is a diffrerens between modifiy and change, hm? That explains why the alarm is not trigged if i modify the items file with f.e. Notepad ++.
Well, i just try to disable the job and see whats happen.

In OH2.0 I do not see this update of items by reloading of items file. It looks like this is new in OH2.1?

Can I prevent this?

At the moment I have the problem on OH2.1 that randomly all my items are updates from UNDEF to the presistend value and I’m not clear why. It is not on every time a problem with item file reload. And I cannot reproduce this. I’m a little bit confused about this.

Rich had a nice explanation for that but I can’t find the thread right now. In short: this is the only way you can have more than one item file in openHAB. All items (in all items files) need to get reloaded if you change a single item file. Yes, I’ve setup influxdb persistence and a restoreOnStartup in my persistence file and don’t have that problem.
