Amanda and AWS S3 - current issue

  • Platform information:

    • Hardware: RPi 4, 4GB
    • OS: Openhabian
    • Java Runtime Environment: as provided by the OS
    • openHAB version: 3.3.0
  • Issue of the topic:

When trying to setup amanda with S3, the labeling command just hangs forever. I tracked down the issue to amlabel and the know problem with libcurl (link).

It seems Openhabian is effected as well, as it uses the latest libcurl version

apt-cache policy libcurl4
libcurl4:
  Installed: 7.74.0-1.3+deb11u3
  Candidate: 7.74.0-1.3+deb11u3
  Version table:
 *** 7.74.0-1.3+deb11u3 500
        500 http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian bullseye/main armhf Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

The amanda team seems in the process to fix it (issue is now closed), but it seems it will take a while for the new version to be tagged and published (not to talk getting into Debian  )

I did not find a way to downgrade the package w/o introducing another repository, this is only an article to document a current issue. Just in case somebody else is stuck with the AWS backup

I have the same problem. Openhabian-config just shows an error and with manual configuration I have the problem described above.

If anyone found a solution for the “openhab user” (not linux freak) then I’d appreciate it.
