Amazon Echo Binding stops working after every few days

    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 B 4GB
    • OS: Latest Raspbian
    • Java Runtime Environment: Latest updated
    • openHAB version: OpenHAB 5.X
  • Issue of the topic: Amazon Echo Binding stops working after every few days

The issue here is that I am using OpenHab from version 2 onwards and have been using Amazon Echo Binding since then only. Since last 1.5 years, there have been on and off issues with the Amazon Echo Binding and OpenHAB. Initially, the issue was due to the change in the API structure from Amazon’s side due to which the API broke. But the OpenHAB developers fixed it. But since last few months, I am facing another issue. After every few weeks, the items connected through the Amazon Echo Binding stops responding through OpenHAB and also stops updating their state even if the Item state is changed through Alexa command.

Restarting the OpenHAB or the raspberry pi doesn’t solve the issue.

To solve this, i need to uninstall the binding and then reinstall it and everything starts working immediately.

I am confused what is leading to all this and how can i fix this.

Please help.
