Anthem binding duplicate channel general#command

I just installed openhab on debian 12 via apt, Version: 5.0.0-1 and running on temurin OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM Temurin-21.0.8+9 (build 21.0.8+9-LTS, mixed mode, sharing)

I’ve installed the Anthem binding. When I try to create a thing with it to control that receiver , I get the below error and a “duplicate channel” stack trace.

The thing stays in the Uninitialized state. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the binding multiple times, deleted and recreated the thing multiple times, cleared openhab’s cache with openhab-cli clean-cache with openhab stopped.

Suggestions for how to load the Anthem thing into openhab?

Could not inform the ThingTracker 'org.openhab.core.thing.internal.ThingManagerImpl@76ddfa0' about the 'THING_UPDATED' event!

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Duplicate channels anthem:anthem:1010a71716:general#command

All I can recommend is filing an issue on the openhab-addons repo. I’ve never seen an error like that but it does seem clear that it’s an error that isn’t caused by anything you’ve done or can control. Something is up with this binding.

This is not one of the more used add-ons so there might have been some change in OH 5’s API which broke the add-on that slipped through the cracks during testing.
