Astro configuration? Noon happens at 19:31?

Platform information:

  • Hardware: rpi 3
  • OS: openhab flash image from github
  • openHAB version: openhabian-pi-raspios32-v1.6.2b.img.xz

Why does the log file show “noon” events at 19:31?

2021-01-23 19:31:00.003 [INFO ] [openhab.event.ChannelTriggeredEvent ] - astro:sun:local:noon#event triggered START

2021-01-23 19:32:00.002 [INFO ] [openhab.event.ChannelTriggeredEvent ] - astro:sun:local:noon#event triggered END

2021-01-23 20:14:00.002 [INFO ] [openhab.event.ChannelTriggeredEvent ] - astro:moon:local:rise#event triggered START

Which planet are you on? SCNR.
Possibly it’s because you have defined either an offset or a wrong location in the astro thing.

Noon isn’t, by definition, 12:00?

No. Well by common understanding it is, but this is the astro binding. No point in creating a function that returns a constant, isn’t it.

That would be “Solar Noon”
definition: " Solar noon is the time when the Sun appears to contact the local celestial meridian."

Good point. I made an assumption. I learned something today, thank you

me, too
