Astro Noon Times Wrong?

Running 3.0.1 - Release Build on a Pi 4, I’m puzzled by the time at which time noon occurs (see below). Other times are correct (moon/sun, rise/set).

I haven’t intentionally added any offsets.

I’m also puzzled by the (COMMUNICATION_ERROR)s. I get several of them. I’m using an ethernet connection to my router and have a solid internet connection.

Any ideas? I’m getting ready to transition my minimal installation from 2.5 to 3.

ntp has to do with the network time protocol to set the time of day on the server. Apparently OH cannot reach whatever server is configured.

Why, what time are you expecting? (Solar noon for me today was 13:11)

Perhaps the NTP target system is doing a backup or suchlike, and not responding quickly enough at that moment.

What timezone did you set in OH?

Thanks, Roosko57. Both explanations make sense.

I am surprised, though, about the quantity of timeouts… several dozen over the past 3 days. I didn’t see this in OH 2.

(GMT-5:00) America/New_York although I’m in Atlanta and could add some minutes if I needed more accuracy (I don’t)

I checked NOAA calculator website, solar noon 13:40 today in Atlanta.
