Can you share a working approach for integration of homekit accessory into openhab - i do need a solution for aquara FP2 which is not yet matter compatible. I am looking for something small line homekit controller with can by run on a host which a mqtt/rest for sending the data to openhab items. Solutions which i found on a forum are not ok for me :
1/ Via amazon echo account (cloud :()
2/ Via google
3/ via aquara binding (FP2 is a wifi devices not connected to aquara hub)
4/ homeassistant in docker wtf!
Have you tried the obvious approach, i.e. the HomeKit binding? It works well for me.
@jguther maybe i did’t described the problem clearly:)
I don’t want to expose a device to homekit. I want to integrate a homekit device into openhab. homekit biding is not a solution for this - different direction
Understood.
I am not aware of any third party homekit controllers.
According to the product spec sheet, the Aqara FP2 is also Zigbee compatible.
I checked the openHAB Zigbee binding documentation. Apparently, the Aqara Zigbee
implementation is somewhat strange and there are some known issues with the inclusion and operation of these devices. You might want to give it a try and purchase a Zigbee dongle that is said to work. If you can make the FP2 stay connected, but it is not recognized by the binding, maybe the Zigbee2MQTT Binding would be another option to explore.
it’s wifi version - i think the only one available
Strange. According to the spec sheet on the Aqara homepage, it supports both. I do not own one, just doing some research on the web.
If it really does support just wifi, I have no more ideas.
that’s why i am asking for working solution
spec sheet is ok, no zigbee
You’re right - I double checked - the spec sheet which I downloaded was for the FP1E, not the FP2. No luck then…
