I added my Sonos and have all pre-defined items in an items file. Then created a sitemap with all those items. I like to have separate items files and sitemaps with the default features.
With Sonos, I have an items file with all items. And a sitemap with all items added in. I am also trying to create a custom player with custom groupings. But I would also like to keep these separate from what I just did. Is it OK to create a new items file for this custom player and duplicate some of the items from the other items file? Or can I only have an item listed once across all my items files?
The item names must be unique across all files, but you can certainly create new items with different names but linked to the same channels without issue.
Unique item name across ALL files. Just imagine if you have same item name linked to different things. If this was a switch, which switch would turn on?
