The load seems to be caused by Karaf continuously (re)deploying features. It seems to have already been an issue for some in 2.2.0. I.e. the features-1-thread-1 consuming CPU cycles in Openhab2 java cpu 100%. Perhaps @splatch knows what may be causing this?
