Custom Widgets and Templates

Hi,
I’m looking to start creating some custom widgets and templates.
Currently running OH2 5, but looking to upgrade to OH3 at some point.
Should I use Angularjs, Bootstrap or something else?
Thinking about long term OH support, ease of use and features.
I’m not overly familiar with either, but can learn.
Is it easier to also use VSCode for this (as it is with Sitemaps)?

Answering your question depends on what widgets you want to develop. Is it widgets for HABpanel or for the new UI.

HABpanel : No changes since openHAb 2.x, still AngularJS
MainUI : Based on framework7, VueJS, configs written in YAML.
