Darshan Hiranandani : Why isn't the OpenHAB app functioning when using mobile data?

Hello everyone,

I’m Darshan Hiranandani, encountering a strange issue with the OpenHAB app—it doesn’t work when connected to mobile data. The app keeps prompting me to turn on Wi-Fi, and as a result, I’m unable to receive notifications or use the app effectively when on mobile data.

I’ve searched the forum but couldn’t find any similar topics. Can anyone help me understand how to use the OpenHAB app while on mobile data? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you register at myopenHAB for remote access and configure it in your app ?

Or something like reverse proxy? There are many ways to connect your app to openHAB.

The docs can be a good starting point.

Otherwise please state your overall setup and if possible some detailed configuration if you think everything is setup correctly.
