yes they do
they changed this awhile back but I think you can adjust the number of threads available. You have to search this forum. If you have many very fast executing tasks which never really hang, adjusting the number of available threads might be a solution and have no detrimental effects
I just did this, and then restarted openHAB. I have the same issue:
01:30:39.087 [WARN ] [phome.internal.handler.ESPHomeHandler] - [haard-eetkamer] Ping responses lacking. Waited 4 times 10 seconds, total of 40. Assuming connection lost and disconnecting
Then set log level for binding to TRACE, restart OH and capture logs from OH start until device goes offline. Send via PM
Apparently, there was a WiFi connection issue. I restarted my router, and the error is gone.
Today I woke up to this:
Unnngh I swear things weren’t this touchy before…
So far I could confirm a good uptime (now > 10d).
I am now (finally) testing: org.openhab.threadpool:thingHandler = 50.
I did not notice the issue in a while now. Would the setting have helped ?
My uptime is now getting to 22d for the ESPHome devices, this is way more than I would ever have expected to be honnest:
No luck unfortunately but at least I don’t “feel” them going down so there’s that.
