In the Apple or Amazon app there is an option on the device to generate a new pairing code which is valid for ~15 min, that should be used in openHAB (just as openHAB can generate a code to add to another system). Hyphens are optional, and won’t make a difference (just for making it easier to read).
Entered the pairing code correctly and the thermostat paired as expected!
It would be a useful enhancement if the iOS (or Android) app could use the camera to capture the QR code of the target device. That would help users avoid the problem that I had.
A Thing was created with 6 channels which need further investigation to see if they are useful, since there is no documentation for the device that I can find.
I will start a new thread for discussing the device.
Those will be the standard thermostat endpoints, and should be listed on the table of all channels in the readme for thermostats and temp.
Regarding mobile , we are holding adding using the camera and Bluetooth until we are a member of the thread alliance , apple and google will not permit apps to have that feature without membership.
Yes, i am planning on membership. Thread is actually a wonderful protocol, especially when paired with TBRs (multiple), especially in larger installations where zigbee and z-wave have really struggled. The problem right now is there are very, very few TBR options out there, so we are another year away ( ) until that changes and many more devices like APs and even stand alone TBRs hit the market. I run a couple of 10$ (16 euro right now on amazon) ESP32H2 routers in my production setup and have been pretty impressed .
