i am not sure if i am right in this subforum.
I would like to suggest some features for mobile app.
- modern UI
I would like to see my openhab App with modern UI, maybe using Material Design. I would also like to be able to add Pictures of my room in the App, that looks awesome.
- Ability to group related items
It should be able group several items like rgb lights, dimmer and on/off switch for one light.
Maybe there is a tool where i can add my requests.
I would also take part of the deployment, although i am not a programmer or app designer.
Maybe there are already some improvement planned. Just let me know.
For 1, create an issue on the https://github.com/openhab/openhab-android project. Though search first as I bet there are changes to the look and feel of the app always taking place.
For 2, what gets presented is entirely up to you. You create a sitemap and you can put all your Items grouped and arranged how you want You can override how they are displayed (e.g. present a Switch as Text so it can’t be changed). The default sitemap that app shows you initially is not intended for general use. It is just to show that you are connected and offers something to see until you select the sitemap you want to use.
thanks for your feedback.
What parts of the app aren’t material design?
You can add them as Image widget: https://www.openhab.org/docs/configuration/sitemaps.html#element-type-image.
