Frigate binding does not work

Hi all,

I’m trying to link my Frigate system (v0.16.3) to openHAB 5.1.1 using the Frigate binding.

What I see with the binding from the Add-on Store:

  • Installed via Main UI → Add-ons.

  • bundle:list shows it as active.

  • Binding version reported: 5.0.0.202507151717

  • But when I try to add a Thing, there are no Thing types available for this binding.

  • The UI message is: “No thing types can be added with this binding.”

What I tried next:

  • I then tried the latest upstream binding release (v2.2).

  • Copied the JAR into the addons/ folder.

  • bundle:list again shows the bundle as active.

  • However, in the UI (Add Thing), the Frigate binding is now not even listed among available bindings.

At this point I’m not sure whether I’m missing a required step (e.g., installing/creating the server/bridge Thing first), or if there is a version/compatibility issue between openHAB 5.1.1 and the Frigate binding.

Has anyone seen this before, or can point me to the correct installation procedure?

Hi Falk,

I tried installing Frigate under the same conditions. The result is the same. I searched for some instructions on the web, but without success.
