Yes, I tried to add items in Group and the configuration you specified, turned ON and OFF of the items. Did not find the items persisted again.
The OH version I am using is openhab 2.5.0 release build.

You should turn on debug logging for persistence, but I donāt know the component name by heartā¦
BTW, did you check the access rights for the userdata mapdb folder?
I am not able to find mapdb folder inside userdata.
There is persistence folder inside which mapdb folder is there.
For testing purpose I just tried adding mapdb folder manually but it dint work. Is there any way that I can generate that mapdb folder automatically.
That is the correct location for themapdb persistence folder.
