Google hosting

I was a bit afraid that this topic would be extending beyond the suggestion itself… and here we are.

I provided the evidences which made me believe that something was at least fishy with this search, even though if we ignore the suggestions only, the results of the first page were giving some “hint”.

I do not think that you read the ‘Google Leaks’ from Zach Vorhies, but this may be worth having a look at it. I have been fighting against Google for many years now. Everyone picks his battles.

Thanks for putting the documentation, I would not be able to open the link from my network. What I really like is “best”, quoted. This makes me think… “Best for who?” Best because we (at Google) think this is best for you? cf. Google Leaks.

Just providing some links to papers I think that would provide you more insights on the “friend” Google. The first one is a bit old, but a lot is still true (do not forget to download the PDF).

The second one is more recent, but brings some insights on Apple as well. Written by Douglas J. Leith at Trinity College in Dublin Ireland

Apple is not on the good side neither, but Google’s products and their integration as ecosystem is made so easy that it will be very difficult for users to escape from their claws.

How is this disscussion on topic, what the heck does this have to do with openHAB?

I agree, I shouldn’t have posted. Let’s just let it go and all move on.
