HANDLER_MISSING_ERROR after OH3.2 Upgrade + reboot

  • Platform information:
    • Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.2 , 4GB RAM, 64GB SD-Card
    • OS: Raspian buster 10
    • Java Runtime Environment: Zulu11.50+19-CA (build 11.0.12+7-LTS)
    • openHAB version: 3.1.0 to 3.2.0 based on Openhabian

when I’m ugprading from a clean (not upgraded) 3.1.0 Release using openhabian tool option 2 “Upgrade System”, the upgrade proceed without any error. after the upgrade is complete, OH 3.2.0 runs fine. all things/Bindings are online and working and my basic-ui is fine.
But as soon as i reboot first time , OH3.2 stops working a short while after reboot.

in logfiles, it looks like everything starts fine. Modules are loaded, first things come online.
but after a bit more than a minute, OH just starts stopping services.
first log-entry is [ab.ui.habpanel.internal.HABPanelTile] - Stopped HABPanel
right after, things starting to change state to UNINITIALIZED (HANDLER_MISSING_ERROR)
finally, OH stops basic ui [basic.internal.servlet.WebAppServlet] - Stopped Basic UI and shuts down Openhab Cloud Connector

after all things changed to UNINITIALIZED (HANDLER_MISSING_ERROR), OH stops doing anything. no further log-entry.

I’m really lost since upgrade was successful if I don’t reboot.

Did you try to clean the cache ( sudo openhab-cli clean-cache ) ?
/var/lib/openhab/cache and /var/lib/openhab/tmp are owned by openhab:openhab ?

Hi Wolfgang,

thanks a lot. it seems like this fixed the issue. before 1st reboot, I cleaned cache as you proposed. now after reboot, everything seems to be ok. I’ll keep monitoring it for a while
