you shouldn’t need a rule for this.

That’s what I thought! technically, rules are for automation and I should be able to control a thing with just an item and its corresponding entry on a sitemap right?

First check the logs. You should see something in there from the squeeze binding when OH starts. then make sure you can ping the server from the command line.

The binding logs its status when loaded. Noted.

to use buttons instead of toggles

Sorry, I did not realize there was a difference. At this point, I just need something simple just to test. Toggle would be fine. What would I use with “Switch sq_test_play”?
