I had the same thing happen to me last week, updated linux not openhab using apt manually on my Ubuntu minimal Odroid C2 setup and I could no longer use SSH and Openhab failed to start. Quick to fix for me as I had a good backup for this exact reason, see here…

There are a number of ways to backup a SD card including Amanda which is popular. I’m sure all of them are good, but I thought I would share my backup system not just the software I use, but also the method and the reasons why, in case you find it useful.
