I plan to extend my home with 22 devices to control heating control per radiator including supporting dynamic hydraulic balancing mode (Hydraulischer Abgleich)
I just checking Tado X (thread and Matter) vs Homematic IP (something IPV6 but not Matter).
Now I’ve noticed both are not working with OH anymore (neither HA) is that true?
Also Alexa echo4 is suddenly disappeared from the list of supported devices as thread border router (new API?)
What is your idea or experience. I was in favour with Tado X and thought I can use now a sonoff dongle as thread border router and start increasing my smarthome towards Matter not using additional specific thread border router from Tado or Homematic IP
I’d never ever buy new proprietary devices for such a purpose.
Get some Shellys or Zigbee/Matter thermostats.
These you can replace one-by-one if ever in need, and you don’t depend on any company specific system’s software support on the server side (openHAB, that is).
I agree, I also would like to avoid proprietary devices/brands and hope to do that with Tado X cause they support “Hydraulischer Abgleich” and also do support standard thread border router/Matter.
Now I read that there is a new API (don’t understand the details) which disturbs connection to OH and also Echo4 as thread border router as it did before.
I can’t find a clear status of that situation and if this is just temporarily and will be solved maybe soon.
Am using HmIP‘s floor heating thermostats with OH5 and Raspberrymatic for multiple years now and am quite happy with it. Happy to answer questions on that if it helps.
I have not encountered any Homematic device that is not supported by Raspberrymatic. Not sure about the technical details, but somehow the underlying core is even identical to the official CCUs.
