what is currently my best option to connect to Homematic hardware with OH2 through a raspberry 3?
The USB-Stick (HMCFGUSB2) seems to be unavailable… please also disregard any solutions that require soldering, etc - that is above my skills…

I am using the HM-MOD-RPI-PCB module which has about 8 contacts which need to be soldered but there is also a company which provides this soldering service.
On the software side I am using Yahm which is working very reliably and fast.
Try to read on the homegear page. There are several options described. I am using a CUL USB Stick.
