Honeywell ZW4005

I’m having trouble getting OpenHab to recognize my Honey ZW4005 switch. It pairs with my Nortek HUSBZ-1. However, OpenHab reports it as Unknown Device. I’ve tried reinitializing the device multiple times without any luck. I’m running OpenHab 2.3.0.

These are the properties it gives me:

zwave_class_basic ROUTING_SLAVE
zwave_class_generic BINARY_SWITCH
zwave_frequent false
zwave_neighbours 1
zwave_version 5.22
zwave_listening true
zwave_plus_devicetype ON_OFF_POWER_SWITCH
zwave_deviceid 12342
zwave_nodeid 2
zwave_routing true
zwave_beaming true
zwave_class_specific POWER_SWITCH_BINARY
zwave_manufacturer 57
zwave_devicetype 18770

It’s not in the database, which is why it’s not identified.

Is it this device -:

or is it something like this which is from a different manufacturer, but has the same IDs -:
https://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/550

It’s a Honeywell like the first one but I noticed this in the logs:

0039:4952:3036::5.22

I see that the GE has 4952:3036 in the listing.

I hope this helps and thanks for the response.

Yes, that was my point earlier.

In any case, forgetting the IDs, what exactly is the device? You said “It’s a Honeywell like the first one” - does that mean it’s exactly the same as the first one, or just that it’s made by Honeywell (or at least sold by Honeywell)?

Often devices are sold under multiple manufacturer IDs, but we need to know what the device actually is, or we just need to add a new entry from scratch.

Sorry for not being more clear. It looks pretty much identical to the GE In-Wall Paddle Switch in your second link.

That is what I bought. I believe that I read that it is made by jasco like the GE switches.

Thanks again

Is there anything I can do on my end to help get this added to the database or at least get it working on my end until the database is updated?

Here is the z-wave node file generated by OpenHAB. Any help getting this working is greatly appreciated.

node2.xml (7.6 KB)

I’m also having the same issue with this exact Honeywell switch. Is it possible to get it added to the database?

Sorry - I missed the replies above. One problem with the forum is if people don’t reply to an actual user, then the user doesn’t get notified…

I’ve added the basic device, but it needs a little work to add some information, image, manual etc -:

If someone has some time, it would be good if you can do this - otherwise I will try and update it next week.

Done.

Hi,

I am new to openhab2 and I am having the same problem with the exact same devices that I purchased off of Amazon. I have gone to cd-jacksons site and found and exported the XML configuration file, https://www.cd-jackson.com/index.php/zwave/zwave-device-database/zwave-device-list/devicesummary/895#.

Here is my problem, I don’t know what to do with it now. I can’ find a procedure on what to do with this XML file now and make it so my switch will work.

By the way, I can discover it but it says its unknown.

Anyway feedback will help.
Thanks.

Welcome to openHAB.
You need to upgrade your zwave binding to the latest zwave snapshot:

Hi All,

I’m another newbie to OpenHab and so far it has been nice to work with but I hit a similar problem to what others have seen. I have done some looking around via Google and the community and I think the next step to solving my problem is to ask someone with a bit more experience to help.

I purchased one of the Honeywell Z-Wave Switches and it looks like I got an updated model unless I miss interpreting what I’m seeing.

I can discover the 39354 Honeywell switch but it shows as “Unknown Device” looking into it I see it has a Reference (Type:Id) = 4952:3137 not what OpenHab is expecting. The OH DB for the binding has the 39354 in it on version 2.5.0 but that is looking for Type:Id of 4952:3037.

If I understand this (probably don’t) the switch just needs to be added as a version 2 as the Id is one number off.

Let me know if I have the theory correct and if you want me to supply anything else I can.

This is the link to the Amazon page for the switch that I have.

Thanks
Ben

Welcome to openHAB.

We need to see your xml file for that node please (userdata/zwave folder)

If you want to change it yourself please see:
