How to Assign Homekit Item Serial Numbers

I use iOS app “Controller for HomeKit” to create backups of my HomeKit configuration. This is very useful when things go wrong as it allows me to reassign all 70+ devices to correct rooms, names etc. However, there is an issue with items exposed from the OH HomeKit add on: there are no serial numbers associated with the individual HomeKit “accessories” ie. OH items. That means that some of my ambiguously named accessories (eg. “Ceiling Light”) can restore to wrong rooms.

Is there a metatag or another way of assigning HomeKit serial numbers in my .item files? I use OH 2.5 but moving to 3 soon. Many thanks.

@Rafal OH3.x uses openhab item id as homekit accessory serial number, so that all accessories get unique serial numbers.
