How to reload conf files without restarting OH2?

My openHAB2 version is #445, which should be pretty new.

I tried on PC, it does do auto refresh correctly.
However, it does NOT work on my board.

It seems I can NOT see my log message regarding to the issue if I change sitemap file.

I have the openhab2 snapshot 2.0.0.201612212344 running on ubuntu linux. The update of the sitemaps have been working the last days. However, since today there is no update after changing the sitemap. I have also tried to create a new sitemap, but this sitemap does not work resp. is not recognized. I have checked it with the via rest api for available sitemaps.

After a restart of openhab the new sitemap and all changes of the other sitemaps took effect in the basic ui. After the restart a change in the sitemap took effect immediately after saving the sitemap.

Is there a way to force the refresh of the config files without restarting openhab?

Yes, there is. You can use the console:

I found out that you don’t have to specify the numeric id. You can also use the symbolic name, the following command also works and is more robust: bundle:restart org.eclipse.smarthome.model.core You can use the command bundle:list -s to find the symbolic name

The problem is the WalkFileTree which ignores per default symlinks. FileVisitOption.FOLLOW_LINKS should passed into the Walker.

I will start a discussion on github and prepare a PR.
