Hue Light Sensor: illuminance reading only updated when motion is detected

Hi all,

I noticed that I’m only getting an updated illuminance reading when the Hue Sensor is detecting motion.
I set up my Hue bridge through the Paper UI (ie I have no declaration for the Hue bridge in my items or things files). I thought it may be related so I tried to declare the Hue bridge in a .things file, but it raises error as the bridge is already known.

In PaperUI, the Hue Bridge has the default sensor polling interval (500ms).

Any idea on what I should do to get timely illuminance readings?

Is auto discover turn on in PaperUI?

Where can I find this control exactly? I have Simple Mode disabled, if related.

My hue outdoor sends lux values every 5 minutes and in addition to that when motion is detected.

@sihui Yes, that the behavior I’m seeing too. What I would like is to get an update value more often or at least when a significant change is detected. Seems like a pretty basic need for home automation rules.

Interesting… I would like to keep things IP / HTTP based on my side so I’ll be looking at the HTTP binding to query the Hue bridge. Still, I suspect I should not need do do that and missing something with the out-of-the-box behavior of the Hue binding.
