I have the demo running on raspberry pi i cant figure out the next step, i also want to control the gpio on the pi what do i do?

I need help to figure out what the next steps are, I have the demo running on raspberry pi I would like to know how to modify the demo and add control of GPIOs i need two of the GPIOs to be momentary contact

Install the gpio binding and follow the instructions on the wiki page fire the binding.
