ever since I am using OH 2.2 I am experiencing different errors on OH, most of the time beginning with a I/O Error. This lookes f.e. like this:

Now, as I have experienced this already a couple of times with 2.2 and 2.3 stable, running 2 different RPIās (3B Model) with entirely different (new and old) SD Cards. I even bought a brand new RPI3b+ with annother new SD Card and installed the 2.4 nightly, hoping this would fix it finally. Still no luck. I am running out of ideas what to do to fix that stuff finally. Any ideas would be appreciated as this drives me nuts.
I am running the following bindings:
KNX1, Zwave, MQTT, Hue, HTTP1, NTP, Astro, Weatherunderground, Telegram-Action and MQTT-Action
Connection to the KNX bus is via a Enertex Router, The Zwave one is connected through a ZMEEUZB1.
Interestingly enough: I have moved my working configuration to the new RPI and the RRD4J has stopped logging data as well. Maybe just not my dayā¦or weekā¦or century, I donāt know.
Do you notice anything not working after experiencing this error? Since it comes from jetty I would expect it to manifest itself with something in one of the web UIs or REST API not working.
When does it occur? Periodically with no discernible pattern? Only during startup? Only when interacting with OH through one of the UIs?
thanks for your thoughtsā¦ I have started to switch off some bindings to see if this makes any difference. So far I started with the HTTP Binding, which is usually used to read my Hue Motion Sensors via HTTP GET. Reason to suspect this binding first is, that OH was disconnecting from the Hue bridge twice witin the last two days, which it never did before. Maybe the polling interval kills the HTTP communicationā¦
Keep you updates, thanks so far.
So far, i still have a ton of error Messages in the log for no obvious reason. What changed though, since I disabled the HTTP GET, at least the I/O Errors are gone.
Something with FireMotD seems to be broken as well, could there be a link ?

2018-09-06 16:24:39,600: FireMotD: Error: Template folder doesn't exist. Upgrading from an older version? Please run make again or run the install function "FireMotD -I -v".
OK
Unless you have been pulling the power on this RPi without shutting it down or are using an older SD card which is wearing out it is unlikely that anything going on with FireMotD would be related to the problems in OH.
So far you have only mentioned the I/O error. What are the other errors?
Too much to count; I have posted several lines in my first post
So it runs for a while, then all of a sudden there are hundreds of lines in the log like the ones above. Not sure where to start with Posting here?
Now I wanted to install a Fresh copy of openhabian. Downloaded the Image, wrote it to a new SD Card, booted it andā¦boomā¦my usual luck is in Action:

Your first post shows one I/O error and part of another I/O error. Anything that doesnāt start with the date and time and [ LEVEL ] belongs to the same log statement. So everything between
2018-09-05 16:57:35.306 [ERROR] [ersey.server.ServerRuntime$Responder] - An I/O error has occurred while writing a response message entity to the container output stream.
and
^[OB2018-09-05 16:57:35.306 [ERROR] [ersey.server.ServerRuntime$Responder] - An I/O error has occurred while writing a response message entity to the container output stream.
is one error. And since these two errors occur immediately after each other they are essentially the same error. One error because the remote connection cuts the connection abruptly and the other because the output connect also got cut abruptly at the same time.
Post the first line of each different error type. I may need the stack trace later but letās just start with what the errors are.
You have a syntax error in washing_machine_state.rules file on line 5 column 83. The : at that location is not allowed.
test.rules is an empty file or so completely mangled that OH cannot even recognize it as a .rules file.
Everything else was loaded and parsed correctly.
Your Astro events were scheduled.
HTTP binding started polling whatever URLs you have configured in http.cfg.
MQTT connected to the broker.
All your UIs started.
Wunderground started (you may want to remove your API key from the posting).
And now you see the same I/O error. You mentioned before that you had removed your HTTP configs but you still have the binding enabled and it will be polling the URLs configured in http.cfg. This does look like it might be the HTTP binding and the error is caused because whatever you are connecting to is not responding in time and the connection just gets cut without returning any data.
Test rule is gone
washing machine rule corrected
The HTTP Binding is no longer there, all references to this have been removed.
The following entries are totally puzzeling me. HTTP.CONF is gone as well, so why is OH stil trying to talk to the Hue bridgeās API (after a reboot)?

Edit: This Errors started at 17:54 and continued until now
So after installing OH2 as VM on my NAS, running Ubuntu LTS, this behavior still occurs. I am back to using the HTTP binding as well as the Hue binding, as removing them didnāt change anything. So for the time being, I am living with these errors. Seems everything is still working, despite the errors. Maybe this is going to be fixed by accident in a later OH2 release
Iāve been getting these error messages a lot too lately - my guess is that itās caused by the āOpenHAB Betaā client I use on my Android phone. Are you using the āOpenHABā client app too on your phone?
I was hoping to solve this issue as well - or at least stop them from getting logged but I still havenāt found the correct config line for the org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg fileā¦
Apparently in 2.4.0M6 the āFATALā enum is not recognized so I decided to try āOFFā instead. I would have preferred to have āsomeā logging available, but apparently there is nothing below log level āERRORā.
