You are correct, it wouldn’t help here because the one would still be dropped. My thinking was “who deliberately wants to use one?” If the default were % my though was no one would actually use one, problem solved. But no, problem wouldn’t be solved.
I actually like that better. It’s a proven source of confusion to have this one UoM not show it’s unit. I’d show it by default and those who care could hide it. But if it were shown, some of these “my % is off by 100” problem might be easier for end users to solve if it shows that the units are different.
