Integration of Hm-IP-RC8 in openhab 3

Hallo!

Did anybody of you manage to receive PRESS events from an RC8 of homematic Remote control?

I can complete the setup as usual but when finished nothing happens and there are even no events in the logs.

I searched a lot in the web and one hint seems to be, that there must be a connection between the Rc8 buttons and „internal ccu switches“ but I dont know which switches are meant…

Regards,
Jürgen.

Hallo,
take a look into your homematic ccu. There mast be a

HmIP-RCV-50
thing. There are 50 Channels with short and long buttons.

Ralf

Hi Juergen,

I’m using a RC8 within my HMip installation.
As far as I can remember there have been no special configuration on my “CCU” to get it working. (Using raspberrymatic)
I’m having a STATE and a PRESS_LONG channel for every RC8 connection.
Configuration looks as follows:
homematic:HmIP-MOD-RC8:RaspiMatic:xxxxxx:2#PRESS_LONG
homematic:HmIP-MOD-RC8:RaspiMatic:xxxxxx:2#STATE
( for Kanal 2)

I’m running on a file based configuration but usually I’m testing with paper UI. Definitely for all new HMip devices. As there are almost allways surprises in channel definitions.

Do you have any other HM(ip) device you can receive commands from within OH?

Cheers
Michael

I had the same issues with HM-IP-RC8. No events were triggered in OpenHAB. It helped to add a dummy script in Homematic for each button (Faq · rdmtc/RedMatic Wiki · GitHub). Afterwards events were triggered in OpenHAB.
