Intelligent Thermostat as cloud service

That price point actually tells me the opposite and that the market for these features is small (i.e. they need to charge a lot because they have fewer customers) or they have a monopoly (patents?). If they were targeting the consumer market they would have a price point closer to the 20€ to 40€ range or it would just come with their devices as a feature. The fact that they charge that much tells me that they mainly have commercial customers who buy it, not many customers of even the commercial kind, or they have no competition.

This could mean that there is an untapped market that you could move into an undercut or disrupt the competition which would be cool. It could also mean that some of these companies have the technology locked up with patents so essentially have a monopoly, in which case you might expect a letter from some lawyers. It might be a good idea to research the market a bit more to find out.
