since I find just old posts for the topic and I maintain my config still thru the text files incl. addon.cfg. I wanted to add a marketplace addon same way, but don’t find a proper syntax accepted in the comma seperated line if addons.cfg … ?
As I understand it, you cannot add marketplace add-ons through addons.cfg. Marketpalce add-ons are soley managed through the API. I suspect any old posts you found on the topic were for OH 2.x which used the Eclipse plug-in marketplace as a distribution mechanism. We had to abandon that though when OH moved off of Eclipse Smart Home as the base. Now the marketplace is hosted in the forum and I beleive it’s MainUI which does the work of pulling the bundles to pass to the REST API and install everything.
I suppose you could manualy edit $OH_USERDATA/org.openhab.marketplace.json but you can’t do that while OH is running nor is it straight forward since it pulls a bunch of stuff from the marketplace forum posting.
When it comes to rule tempaltes, block libraries, and transformations on the marketplace, even more is implemented through MainUI and it’s even more challenging to try to do it manually.
Could have won a lot money, if I had bet you are answering thanks,
Beneath that fact it doesn’t work obviously, I have to consider to use Marketplace Bindings or not.
But that specifc Binding would have forced me to install Bluetooth Binding what I do not need at all as dependency. Something I need to have configured and maintained just to have it installed somehow.
I solved it meanwhile with the “swiss army knife” http Binding … same result, just one value.
