Log Level changed?

Hi,
just upgraded to latest nightly build.
log:tail shows nothing anymore … like item changes or my rule messages

was there something changed?

Log4j2 Sample Config

Here is my setup for the new log4j2 logging package that is included in the latest upgrade of openHAB2 snapshot (2.2.0 Build >#1009) All changes happen in the $OPENHAB_USERDATA/etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg file (full path in Linux with apt installation: /var/lib/openhab2/etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg) Notes My OH2 installation is very stable and I don’t add many new stuff so I want my logs to show me only Warnings+. Don´t understand all of this.

I made a snapshot upgrade last thursday (24.09.2017) and since this time i don´t get any new logs in openhab.log and events.log.

How can i change this back to the previous behavior? Is there a short way or do i have to change all the config-files???

Can you explain this for “not so big programming cracks” maybe an example for dummys?

Is this log4j2 a new binding which i have to install first?

You didn’t let it update your config file during the update to the new format. You need to replace /userdata/etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg With the contents of https://github.com/openhab/openhab-distro/blob/3b1bbf413f6c4b849891708609dcfa8c2ea609e4/distributions/openhab/src/main/resources/userdata/etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg

Copy the content to the mentioned log config file, restart openHAB and you should be good to go.

Please can someone tell me in a dummy-friendly way how i can get the old logging-behavior back? I made a snapshot update a few days agp and since this time i don´t get any new log entries into the events.log and the openhab.log.

At least, if you’ve found a solution in that other thread, leave a note here so other users can benefit.
