during the upgrade, apt-get informed that there would be a new version of file:
/var/lib/openhab2/etc/org.ops4j.pax.logging.cfg
And i choose the default to keep the altered file allready on the system.
A mistake i guess, as since the reboot there are no log entries in openhab and events log any more.
Severall other files had new versions as well:
/var/lib/openhab2/etc/org.eclipse.smarthome.voice.cfg
/var/lib/openhab2/etc/jmx.acl.org.apache.karaf.config.cfg
/var/lib/openhab2/etc/jmx.acl.org.apache.karaf.bundle.cfg
/var/lib/openhab2/etc/org.eclipse.smarthome.audio.cfg
I went for “keep version present on system” for all.
Everything seems to run OK, but i have no means of control any more.
WOuld anyone have an idea how to fix this?
System is Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS.
Many thanks in advance,

I’ll also post this in the linked thread in case others flunked like me…
Only backdraft is that my nice, tamed logs are getting filled up again.
But that is work for anyother day.

Thanks a million for this!! I ran some dodgy script earlier that I thought messed it up… Now many hours later I find this post and voila, its working again!!
I still dont get the log files to work again…after the upgrade to 2.2.0 (build 1066) , there is no information written to the logs. Also after copying the config as described above… still not working.
