hello all…have been discussing gcal over on another thread with a possible new user who is getting discouraged, and may not use openhab…
regardless…i personally dont have thw knowledge or time to impliment the following, but know that it has been discussed, and hope its implimented at some point in the future…
basically, making openhab able to utilize scheduling, rules, sitemaps, in a graphical way, and not depend on outside iot such as ifttt or google event scheduler, or the like. my reasoning is as long as i have wifi available, not necessarily connected to the web, everything still works in my house, and is easy to set up and use. not saying to not have the ability to use outside sites or apis, or the such…
i just had an issue where my internet went down, and could forsee this an issue if i used gcal or ifttt, or anything else…
everyone has done an awesome job with oh, and i look forward to what the future will bring.
