Bad Gateway Error
Openhab2 service runs in terminal without errors, but any attempt to access via a browser either on the local machine or a remote pc using safari, chrome or mozilla results in a bad gateway error. I have tried clearing openhab2 cache and temp folders along with several re-installs but without success,
Any suggestions as to resolving the situation would be gratefully received.
I’m currently running openHAB on a raspberry pi4, but ran against a wall when trying to render charts from Grafana so decided to try the mac mini.
I have followed previous bad gateway threads but have I not found a solution
Hi,
what is the URL of your openHAB? Do you go directly to the applicationserver (http: // openhab: 8080) or do you have a reverse proxy before that? The error affects me as if, for example, a nginx before the openhab having a wrong config. Do you see which web server sends you the “Bad Gateway”?
Many thanks Chris.
Using Safari,
If I type http://openhab:8080 the mac logs on to my raspberry pi sucessfully. http://localhost:8080 and I get the message “502 Bad Gateway”
"Socks%ProtocolException("SOCKS5 mode failure: SocksError(“Invalid SOCKS version. Expected0x05, got 0x47’,)”,)
I must admit I’ve hit a wall with this error.

Now solved. Through reading all the relevant threads in this community, it was obvious that I was doing something wrong and it was Java that I hadn’t installed correctly.
So now the ui’s load ok through safari and we can continue playing with the mac mini.
Many thaks to all,
Ian
