Make: Building a Home Automation System with OpenHAB to Control LEDs Wirelessly

Makezine just published a tutorial that includes an openHAB setup. It is a fairly decent tutorial though I would categorize it as more of a “kit” than a how-to as all the openHAB config is done for you and there isn’t much explanation for the pre-written openHAB config files.

Unfortunately the instructions for installation is the wget method and it points at 1.7.1. I added a comment on that step pointing to the apt-get method.

It is worth a look and might be a useful tutorial to point at people with a DIY arduino or ESP8266 project. It has a nice video and it is the first in a series of tutorials based on openHAB.
