Making a ground dimmer for a floor lamp smart

Hi community,

we have a very old but stylish floor lamp with a separate ground dimmer. As the dimmer is behind the sofa it is not very comfortable to control it. The ground dimmer is this one: Ground dimmer for floor lamp.

Are there any possibilities to make it smart or replace it by any smart dimmer like the Shelly 2 dimmer? Did anybody solved this problem? Any ideas are welcome :slight_smile:

I had a similar floor dimmer, which I completely removed and instead use a dimmable wall plug (z-wave in my case). The only downside is I can’t control it manually, need to use my phone or Google assistant, but like in your case it’s under the sofa, so that would be a bit awkward anyway.
