Yes, sometimes openHAB doesn’t complete shutdown after 60 seconds and it’s killed.

There’s a new Jar with Electrical Measurement support, since i don’t have a device to test with, its likely something won’t work, but give it a shot and let me know how it goes.

There are also other behind the scene changes including upstream matter.js updates, deserialization improvements, Lighting fixes and general quality improvements.

@digitaldan this is weird, notice the root node. Not entirely certain from where that information comes from…

Should all devices provide the signal strength or does it depend on the oem? I have currently three devices but only one provides that information.

Dan, I still of the “ON/OFF” Problem with my lights.

I have two lights, on of which I removed as a thing and rescanned it to see if anything new comes up. The thing is discovered and I added it (it reuses the channel setup I had before=
Then the THING stays in “NOT YET READY” but it does “work” somehow. It sends and receives data (see logs below), however the state doesn’t become ONLINE.
The main problem is that switching on via an ITEM doesn’t work because when switching off via the item it, it does switch of the light but then immediately sets the status back to ON (but the light stays OFF).
I did the whole actions that I present below all while the Thing is “not yet ready”
Only after that I stopped the Thing and restarted it and after that it went ONLINE and stayed as such ever since.
After that the item was OFF (as the light). I switched it ON via the the item, the light goes on. I switch the item OFF, the light goes OFF and then the item immediately goes back to ON (like above).

I am on version installed via the marketplace today

So before we try debugging anything else, lets first focus on this issue of it not being online as that could be the root of the other issues. I would need to see the logs as this thing is initialized, it would probably be best to restart the controller thing so we can see this come up the first time. We can troubleshoot the other issues if they are still present once we figure out why this is not online.

So, no NOT_YET_READY is currently not an issue but the above ON/OFF-Issue remains the same.

I think i see the issue, the device sends a current level (brightness) message with a positive value, although the device is off (those are not coupled most of the time in matter), we handle this in other places, but i was missing an OnOff check in one in the ColorControl.currentLevel logic. I’ll push an update shortly.

thanks for developing this binding and for your efforts. Great work!

I’m using this binding with an Eve Thermo thread device connected to a SmartThings TV hub and an Apple TV, both acting as border routers within the same thread network and wanted to share my matter experiences so far.

At First I had some trouble pairing other controllers because I wasn’t aware that this device only supports a maximum of five paired controllers. SmartThings, Apple Home and openHAB still let you create a new pairing code but a new commissioning fails silently then. Only Alexa made it clear that no new controller can be connected anymore and therefore didn’t generate a pairing code.
Several times the pairing process with openHAB got stuck right after reconnect (step 14.1) although the device was pingable from the openHAB host in the meantime. This problem seems to be fixed with the latest matter.js upgrade.
The only missing channels I see from other controllers are the battery channel and I think some vendor specific clusters which can only be seen in the Eve app.
Another problem I have is that the Apple TV assigns a 2a11 address to the thread device if it’s the main border router – especially after reboot of the Apple TV or IPv6 prefix change (checked the address with mdns discovery). OpenHAB then isn’t able to connect to the thermostat although I can ping it successfully from the openHAB host. The correct IPv6 route advertisement is also shown in terminal. Other controllers like Alexa, … don’t have any problems with this address at all. Below I added a log file from discovery with this address. Sometimes the Apple TV assigns a fd95 address to the thermostat and then everything works perfectly with openHAB. Is there a way to prevent the Apple TV from assigning 2a11 addresses as it is also really annoying that these change two times a day? With SmartThings TV hub as the main border router I don’t have this problem.

I also tested the matter bridge of this binding with Apple Home, Alexa and SmartThings and it worked perfectly.

Could you PM me the JSON blob of this device when it is initialized ? You can pause/unpause the thing in openHAB to trigger this. We do have battery support, so i’m not sure why thats not showing up (could be a different cluster then what’s supported right now)

Thats interesting, so you can ping the actual ipv6 2a11 address from openHAB ? Did you have to specify an interface when pinging, or were you able to ping with

I’m not sure why that would work, but we are not able to send/receive matter packets to it. I have not tried my apple tv yet as a thread router, i’ll see if i can duplicate that.

Yes I can successfully ping the actual ipv6 2a11 address of the device directly from the openHAB host machine in the terminal. This works without specifying the interface when pinging just with the command:

Thank you for sending that, unfortunately there is not a battery cluster (or any power cluster) advertised by this device. There is one vendor specific cluster, at first glance its not clear what this is, maybe its battery/power related?

Since moving to 4.3.2, the occupancy sensors on my Big Ass Fans have stopped responding. I haven’t taken any steps to fix (could be isolated to me), just wondering if there are any steps I should take related to the binding.
