I recntly purchased a 7 Day Sinotimer. The scren is showing the time etc. So I presume there must be a power supply (Battery) for that yet nothing is connected. Is there a battery inside or is it recharged when connected to a powersource? Nothing in the instructions.
Nice to be greeted like that. No, I am not a bot and here’s what a bot would not write.I am a british expat living in France. Grew up in the 70s with the first Commodore Pets and Basic. I have a love of electronics and worked on the first electronic thermometer, the Dependatherm. FYI Two guys, Mr Kane and Mr May rented a small room in the factory in London. Later they formed the company KaneMay and were the founders of Loctite and bought the rights to the Depenatherm. I later owned a few betting shops. Here’s an image of me, my ex wife and Henry Cooper, when we opened another of my betting shops in 1976
To be fair to @mstormi , this forum is inundated with posts made by bots that look very similar to your first post. It’s a real problem, and it keeps us moderators busy.
perhaps I missed something here but how would this device be related in any shape or form with OpenHAB?
Looking over the link to the manual I do not see anything that indicates this is anything but a straightforward standalone timer module with no options to interface with home automation.
Just one more reason to suspect this is NOT a valid user inquiry.
Kinda have to wonder if someone is training a model called AitchB as in a Artifical intelligence technical Bot ???
I am not a bot (God forbid!). I live in France and the timer is for some garden lights in our Caribbean villa. We buy as much as possible in France and then take it over in our luggage. Airlines will not let lithium batteries in hold luggage but it’s ok in hand luggage. The selling company had no support so I searched for a likely website that might help. That’s how I found openHAB. A nice person replied and told me it was an alkaline one. So now I can put it in the big case with all the new towels, and new pots and pans. Google can really help when humans can’t. I’m still not a bot!
Btw I use AITCHB as a username. Aitch is how you spell the H in Henry and B is the first letter of my surname.
Very clever of you to think that someone is training a model called AitchB as in a Artifical intelligence technical Bot ??? Easy to do: Journey Around Odd Members
There you are.
Have a nice day,
AitchB (Henry Barnett) Google “Henry Barnett Villa Henson” if you want to look or book!!!
Welcome to the community!
Thank you for the clarification I was trying to figure out if you intended to use the timer with the OpenHAB application and did not see a path for that approach with the device in question.
As mentioned, before we do see a lot of “BOT” like posts, so we try to weed out those as much as possible.
Hopefully you may find OpenHAB and its various options as a way to further provide other automation solutions as well as being able to remotely control or get insight to the state of both your residences.
We have many folks who use OpenHAB for control and monitoring of their second homes and keeping an eye on their primary residence when they are abroad. It is a very versatile and robust Home Automation solution.
