Midea Dehumidifier binding

It was noticed that the recent official add-on for the Midea AC also partially recognized Midea Dehumidifiers. Long story short, a working draft jar was created for dehumidifier support and can be found here. Release Midea AC binding in OH5.1 + Dehumidifier · apella12/openhab-addons. (Use the official mideaac binding available from the OH5.1 store for ACs).

As is the case for Midea ACs, Midea is an OEM for many brands. The best way to tell if your device may be supported for LAN control with the OH Midea binding is if you can control the device via an internet app, like NetHome Plus, MSmartHome, or Midea Air. For instance, my Midea AC is a Cooper&Hunter brand.

It would be helpful to test other dehumidifiers before submitting a PR. Each brand with Midea OEM tends to implement a bit of customization that needs to get captured. One note; with the one dehumidifier tested, Scan did not work. Don’t know if this was a local issue or common to all dehumidifiers. The alternative is to use the manual dehumidifier option with the device IP.

Providing feedback. This dehumidifier works with the OH 5.1.0 jar.

Dropped the jar in. Scanned and the device showed up.

The channels need a bit of polish. The dehumidifier channels are under advanced.

Thanks for the feedback. It was based on one user’s unit in France. This look like USA. I’m glad it was discovered; I didn’t understand why that didn’t work.

I should have updated this post because the dehumidifier PR was merged into the OH5.2 addons earlier this year. I don’t recall the changes between then and now, but most dehumidifier channels are not advanced now. Midea AC - Bindings | openHAB

I’d be happy to look into enhancements/fixes. Generally, I can work from a debug level before and after a triggered change.

North America.

I tried it with the OH 5.2 jar and it works perfectly.

I’m running on 5.1.4.

Appreciate the work you did on this.

There are some extra channels that the device doesn’t support like the motorized louvers and anion. But for the most part it’s perfect.
