Migration von 1.9 binding to 2.0 binding

Good morning!
I configure openHAB 2 with a binding (modbus) in version 1.9 and so are the configuration files. When the binding version 2.0 is out do I have to do the whole configuration again behause of the new syntax?

Yes either in the thing file or using Paper UI.
