Each time OH is restarted the log files openhab.log and events.log are copied.
Is it possible to turn this off?
I think they are not copied but rotated which means the oldest one is removed all other ones are renamed and a new one is created.

You are right they are renamed.
Is there no easier way off limiting the number of log files?
