My.openhab connection stopped working on 8/1/16

I have had OH running for about a year and a half now, and I use push notifications (via my.openhab) from rules for a number of events. However, I have not received any since 7/31. I noticed this Twitter post regarding ssl changes:
https://twitter.com/vbelov/status/760210266621616128, but I am running Java 1.8.0 already.

My.openhab shows that I am online, but none of my items are showing updates since 8/1, and my last push went out 7/31 (which makes sense.)

Since this issue started, I have noticed some “javax.net .ssl.SSLException: Received fatal alert: certificate_unknown” errors in my logs, which I never noticed before, and I assume are related.

I am currently running OH 1.8.0.

I did -almost- the same, but used the WebUpd8 installer in @Udo_Hartmann link to get automated java updates in the future (I wasn’t aware that this is not done automatically through apt-get update/upgrade on a Raspbian Jessie installation on a Raspberry Pi), but you have to make a slight change to the tutorial: instead of su - use sudo su: sudo su echo "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/webupd8team/java/ubuntu xenial main" | tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list echo "deb-src http://ppa.…

Well that was easy. I had done apt-get update and checked java -version, but apparently I was using the wrong 1.8.0
