New Installation (Trixie 1.12) no openHAB Installed

hi all

Raspberry Pi 5 8Gb Ram

Openhabian Installation

I have a system that is remotely installed

The SD Card was created from the Raspberry Pi Imager
The latest version was chosen and I can see that its 13.3 (aka Trixie)

The issue is the openhabian.conf file was not uncompressed and so its a “corrupted” file

I can now login through ssh with the openhabian user and default password but there is no openHAB installed and even the login just shows a normal debian login

My question since the system has already booted - can i just re-run the first-boot.bash (with the correct openhabian.conf ) and the config will run - or is it better to reimage again completely

if one file is corrupted you cannot be sure it’s the only one.
Better re-install.

Hi @mstormi thanks

in this case I can - what happened is the user put the openhabian.conf.gz file and renamed it to openhabian.conf so the system could never read the file

I uncompressed it now (and can read it) if I run the first-boot.bash again would it work (correctly)

Long term i’m still thinking that the reimage is the best but that delays things for a week for me (#OnlyMeBeingImpatient )

Again: whatever went wrong, you cannot be sure it was the only thing.
So noone can answer your question.

A reinstall is just one hour of work. I don’t understand why you’re humping around that.

understand - the SD Card can only be imaged next week again thats the only reason (its 800Km ‘s from me) - thanks
