iOS can read nfc tags.

From https://learn.seritag.com/nfc-enabled-phones/apple-iphone-11

The iPhone 11 and 11 Pro are the second generation of iPhones to support native NFC tag reading. The first generation, the XS, XS Max and XR were the first iPhones to be able to read NFC tags and the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro continue this functionality.

I’ve been making fun of my wife for using her iPhone which can’t read nfc, but she just got the new one. While the ios openhab app can’t read tags written from the Android openhab app, I found it’s possible to write a URL to the tag using classicui which allows for openhab nfc control using either iOS or Android devices.

Sample url to use: http://OPENHABIPADDRESS:PORT/classicui/CMD?itemName=Command

It works with both Android and iPhone. The only downside is that it opens a blank browser page on each device when you scan the tag.
